1. Preparation
   • Make sure the kit is complete, including the T8 lamp (20W), the fixture, and any possible installation accessories such as mounting clips, screws, etc.
   • Check the specifications and voltage requirements of the fixture and confirm that they match your power supply. For example, in the United States, the typical household voltage is 120V, while in other countries it may be 220 - 240V. If the voltage requirement of the fixture doesn't match the power supply, a transformer may be needed.
   • Select an appropriate installation location. For a lighting kit used in a desert - animal habitat (such as a desert lizard enclosure), the installation position should be able to evenly illuminate most of the enclosure, especially the basking area and the active area of the animals. At the same time, avoid installing it in a place where it's easy to get splashed by water, as this may damage the fixture.
2. Install the Fixture
   • If the fixture is fixed to the top of the enclosure or other surfaces by clips, first install the clips in a suitable position. Make sure the clips firmly grip the edge and can bear the weight of the fixture. For example, for a glass enclosure, be careful not to clamp the clips too tightly to avoid damaging the glass.
   • If the fixture is fixed by screws, use the appropriate tools (such as a screwdriver) to fix the fixture in the predetermined installation position. During the installation, make sure the fixture is installed horizontally so as to ensure the even distribution of light.
3. Install the T8 Lamp
   • Before installing the lamp, always turn off the power to avoid the risk of electric shock.
   • Locate the lamp sockets on the fixture. Usually, a T8 fixture has two metal sockets, and the two ends of the lamp are inserted into these two sockets respectively.
   • Gently insert one end of the T8 HO UVB lamp (20W) into one socket, and then slightly bend the lamp so that the other end can be aligned and inserted into the other socket. When inserting, make sure the lamp is fully inserted into the bottom of the socket and has good contact with the socket. This can ensure that the lamp lights up normally and can effectively conduct current to provide a stable power supply for the lamp.
4. Connect to the Power Supply
   • After confirming that the lamp and the fixture are firmly installed, connect the power cord of the fixture to an appropriate power socket. If the fixture has a switch, turn the switch to the "off" position before plugging in. This can prevent the lamp from being subjected to unnecessary current surges when the power is connected, thus prolonging the service life of the lamp.
